Best places to visit in South Waziristan (Pakistan)
South Waziristan is a mountainous region in the northwestern part of Pakistan. It is the largest District of ex-Fata which has now merged in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Pakistan shares its boundaries with Afghanistan through South and North Waziristan.
Waziristan is full of natural beauty, its mountains, rivers, streams, and springs make it a heavenly place. God has granted some of the most beautiful sceneries to Waziristan.
It’s the best place for tourism. Thousands of tourists from across the country visit its different areas when the summer season is on the pick, usually in July and August. If you love tourism then perhaps you have come to the right place.

Makin
Makin is the centre of Waziristan. The beauty of the area starts from it. There are restaurants and hotels in the market of Makin, where tourists stay and eat after or before starting the trip. This town is located on the green hills and mountains. After arriving at Makin, you can fill your mind with the glorious views of the town. There is a stream of transparent water between the hills. On either side of the road, you will see many natural fountains, of which water flows smoothly.
Ladha
To the south of Makin, lies another beautiful town Ladha. It is a town of very leafy and green hills. The area is full of wild weeds. Cliffs are smooth and lush which makes it an eye-catching venue. This town has a market too, where you can find edible and other things of daily use. Tourists come to this spot and bring drums with them, enjoy themselves by dancing around the drum beaters in the lush green plains of the town.
Here you can climb up to the tops of the highlands from where the views seem incredible or if you want to stay there for a few days, you can do camping there.
Saam, Kaniguram
Next starts the wonderful views of Kaniguram which is probably one of the most astonishing areas of Waziristan. The area is full of life-changing sights. If you go there, you will wish it a lifetime. This town lies among the mountains of thick oak trees forests. The forest is enough thick that one can hardly go through. On different points on the roadsides, you will see people cooking food and having fun.
Baddar
Baddar is the greenest town in Waziristan. It’s on the west side of the main road. A small single road leads to it at a point called Shrawangai Narai. As you turn there you will find Highlands covered with lush green grasses and pastures. Baddar is the most beautiful spot for tourism in Waziristan. Thousands of visitors get there every year in the pick summer season. Some people fix tents if they have to stay there for a night or a few.
Masardina, Shakai
Masardina in Shakai is also very famous for its beauty and pleasant weather. It’s a hilly area with a lot of lovely sceneries. People visit it every year in a large number and enjoy the cool weather of the area. Shakai is also a marketplace, where you can get things of daily use.
Wanna
Wanna is the capital city of South Waziristan. It’s a famous marketplace in the District. Apples, apricots and some other fruit grows there and is transported to other parts of the country. As there are numerous fruit and vegetable farms in the area.
About fifty kilometres to the west of Wanna City lies a green, full of pine trees hilly area called Khamran and Margha Chenna.
